Fedora Constantine

Good morning all, as it is my costume here we go with the latest Fedora Countdown to the new release, Fedora Constantine will be among us in :

This new release will be packed with new and exciting features as usual among which we can find :

- Dracut as the new booting system which should provide a new and distribution indipendent booting environment bringing a lot of flexibility and standardization to the boot process with overall better performances!

- GNOME 3.0 as a preview and KDE 4.3

- The new GNOME Shell! As I've written in this post

- EXT4 support for GRUB! In the previous release, if you did not notice, your /boot partition had to reside on an EXT2/3 formatted partition

- Smaller packages thanks to the XZ (LZMA) compression (instead of GZIP) which, thanks also to the Yum Presto integration which only downloads Delta packages, will result in smaller packages and shorter download times!

- Dynamic Rotating wallpapers, this was originally included in Fedora 8 and brought to new life in Fedora 12

- Lot of new features and improvements to the Virtualization packages

- Lot of improvements on system performances and better support for a lot of different architectures and Netbook!

Well an early Alpha tester of this new release I'm really excited to install the new born in house Fedora on all my systems!
